| The Brainerd
Lakes Regional Airport Commission controls,
operates, and manages the jointly owned
City/County airport operations. It establishes
policy in order to ensure that quality aviation
related services are provided to the Brainerd
Lakes regional area. The city of Brainerd’s ordinance regarding the
Airport Commission requires approval from Crow
Wing County. The ordinance states that lay
members are appointed for three-year terms. City
Council and County Board representatives are
appointed annually. The Committee comprised of
six members. Three members are appointed by the
City, one of which must be a City Councilperson.
Council President recommends nomination/Council
approves.
Three members are appointed by the County, one
of which must be a County Commissioner. Airport
Manager is an ex-officio member.
The Brainerd Lakes Regional
Airport Commission meets the first Thursday of
each month at 9:30 a.m. in the Airport
Conference Room
